Stars Club
Describe the problem that you want to address. How does this problem effect people in their daily lives?

One of the biggest problem of civil society organizations (CSO) in Cyprus - especially in the northern part of the island - is difficulties in securing national donors. Most of the main activities of many CSOs depend on international funding. Many of the organizations do have a membership systems in place however they are faced with challenges in collecting the membership fees.

Describe your proposed solution – How does your approach build on or add to more traditional ways of dealing with problem?

STARS CLUB! aims at resolving this problem on behalf of CSOs. The urge behind this idea was "to encourage people to help more". The main idea was to make donating an enjoyable process. An online database of NGOs will be set up. This database will be web-based and will also be available on smart gadgets such as phones or tablets. By doing this it will be easier for donors to have access to organizations. Individuals or institutions who would like to donate will become members of the club. Their membership information will not be shared with others. Members will pay a administration fee for keeping their memberships active. Member Donors will be able to search keywords to identify organizations or causes they wish to support.Member Donors will also receive notifications when: a) there is an urgent call from any organizations b) when there is a new organization or cause added to the database c) if an organization they supported have achieved something.

Which technologies are you planning to use and why? Please make reference to other similar uses of your proposed technology.
The software will prompt suggestions on whom to support based on previous action. The Club members depending on the size and format of the donation they make will receive small treats! Such as discounts in a restaurant or a shop, invitation to a special closed event, a small thank you gift etc. They will receive discount coupons or invitations in digital format either by email or SMS. The treats  will be obtained from companies, restaurants, hotels etc. for free as a form of "advertisement". The club will also notify its members when there are special offers with business partners. The club will charge business partners a small administration fee. Some special offers and discounts will not be offered to all members and will be saved for "platinum" members who donates a considerable amount on annual basis. The Club will also set up ranges of donation and will charge reasonable commissions from high-range donations.
