Crowdsourcing for Peace
Describe the problem that you want to address. How does this problem effect people in their daily lives?
The issues of the dialogue and reconciliation in peacemaking efforts are ignored in the conflict resolution process, especially in the beginning of conflict and escalation. Society is looking for the ways out of the conflict and resolution of this problem. In such conditions an active dialogue is often difficult or impossible. But now when there are wide oppurtunities of technologies, internet we could find out the new ways.
It is important to understand the nature of the conflict, the principles of solving the problem of unequal involvement of the local post-soviet cultures into the global information space (like example the conflict on the East of Ukraine). The conflict is understood as the area of the collision of new and traditional elements of culture. The dialogue of cultures should be enriched with new contents, but not to turn into a source of semantic wars and military conflicts.
Crowdsourcing will be used as the primary driver — a wide discussion of the representatives of society and government about the most urgent questions on a specially designed Internet platform. Crowdsourcing platforms relieve this problem and allow maintaining a dialogue regardless of place, time and current context of activities. The technical objective of this project is to develop an internet resource that will be able to accept and aggregate not only the positions and views, but also people’s fates. The unique objective of this direction is the development of a stop code of the dehumanization process, which has led to countless misfortunes and victims of this conflict.
Ukrainian Maidan 2013—2014 offered to Ukrainian society and implemented into practice the specific mechanism of direct democracy. Its essence is to create alternative, parallel legitimacy among broad groups of politically active citizens on the basis of modern Internet technologies. An efficient decision-making system that might involve hundreds, thousands or millions of people has led to the inevitable bankruptcy of traditional, outdated methods of governance very quickly. Due to the prevalence of the political situation over the decisions of the authorities of the country, the confrontation has led to the deadly conflict in the South-East of Ukraine. Now more than 1 millions of IDPs, and conflict is not settled.
Describe your proposed solution – How does your approach build on or add to more traditional ways of dealing with problem?

Goverments, territorial communities and public organizations are interested in the resolution of social processes, establishment of productive interaction and welfare. Here the dialogue could turn into a more powerful driver of democracy. It promotes the development of an open civil society, consolidates it and develops the initiative of public-private partnership with the government. Regional authorities are interested in returning control, neutralizing the effects of hostilities, manageability and prestige in the region. It contributes to strengthening the capacity of local authorities and other stakeholders to development and implement effective regional development programmes, that will provide them with timely and adequate mechanisms for a public policy response. It will reduce the level of social tension and eliminate additional threats of public safety. And we can freely talk about Peace!

Which technologies are you planning to use and why? Please make reference to other similar uses of your proposed technology.
Crowdsourcing platform and social practicies of reconciliation! It is easier for people involved into the conflict to start a dialogue than to hold negotiations. The main mechanisms of involving the beneficiaries is a platform where social technologies are combined: a facilitation technique — methodology of facilitating a group interaction, a dialogue, and transformation of disputes in common tasks, expert evaluation — a traditional way of assessing and reporting results to public, a crowdsourcing — a method of knowledge production. Peace technology for peace world.
